Chick-fil-A® expands with new location at Yorkdale Shopping Centre

Chick-fil-A, the #1 chicken restaurant in the United States, is excited to serve a new community in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), opening a second franchisee-owned location at Yorkdale Shopping Centre Dine on 3 food court in 2020.

Chick-fil-A is focused on expansion in Ontario, with plans to open 15 restaurants in the next five years, creating approximately 50 to 75 new jobs per location. We are committed to building long-standing partnerships with local suppliers and to finding neighborhoods where we can grow.

Since opening the first franchisee-owned Canadian location at 709 Yonge Street in September 2019, we’re thrilled to have served tens of thousands of Torontonians and are excited to see that guests continue to line up for their first bite of our signature menu items. Popular items include the Original Chick-fil-A® Chicken Sandwich, Spicy Chicken Sandwich, Chick-fil-A Waffle Potato Fries®, Chick-fil-A Lemonade®, and seven delicious Chick fil A® dipping sauces.

Our restaurant location in Yorkdale, one of Canada’s leading shopping centres, will bring to life the authentic Chick-fil-A experience. This includes treating all guests with care by offering great food and quick service in a welcoming environment. The very first Chick-fil-A restaurant opened in an Atlanta shopping mall in 1967. At the time, the concept of a shopping mall restaurant was ground-breaking and helped to pioneer the modern-day food court.

Chick-fil-A at Yorkdale will employ approximately 60 part-time and full-time Team Members who can apply to receive up to $25,000 CAD in scholarships to pursue the higher education opportunity of their choice. Since 1973, Chick-fil-A has awarded more than $75 million in educational scholarships to more than 53,000 Team Members in the United States as part of Chick-fil-A’s Remarkable Futures education initiative.

We’ve also had more than 3,000 candidates to date contact us to express their interest in operating a Chick-fil-A location in the Toronto.
