Chick-fil-A has selected Josh Huesser as the independent franchised Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Wharncliffe & Wonderland

In celebration of this restaurant, Chick-fil-A will donate $US25,000 to Second Harvest to support local hunger relief, and will bring approximately 120-130 full- and part-time jobs to the area

TORONTO, ON (NOVEMBER 27, 2023) – A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant will begin serving the London community on Thursday, November 30. Chick-fil-A has selected Josh Huesser as the independent franchised Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Wharncliffe & Wonderland.

Located in The District development at 3459 Wonderland Road South, London, Chick-fil-A Wharncliffe & Wonderland will be open for dine-in, pick-up and delivery from 10:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday, with the drive-thru open until 10 p.m.

Locally Owned and Operated

As full-time, hands-on leaders in their restaurants and communities, local Chick-fil-A Owner-Operators proudly reside in the areas in which they serve.

In London, Josh will be responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, including employing approximately 120-130 full- and part-time Team Members, serving guests and cultivating relationships with local organizations and businesses.

Josh was born in Kitchener, Ontario, and is no stranger to Chick-fil-A. He often enjoyed Chick-fil-A sandwiches in the United States while completing his bachelor's degree in social science and history. He later completed his post-graduate studies in sales and operations, when he gained an interest in business development. Then, Josh began establishing his restaurant industry experience while working at an international quick-service restaurant chain as a business development director for three successful locations.

Passionate about the industry but ready for a new opportunity, Josh started learning more about Chick-fil-A from his uncle, a local Owner-Operator in Pennsylvania. He went on to serve in the restaurant as a director where he was passionate about mentoring Team Members to help them grow.

“Bringing Chick-fil-A to London is such a remarkable opportunity, where my vision is for our restaurant to be the city’s most caring company,” said Josh. “As the local Owner-Operator, I’m passionate about creating opportunities for everyone to thrive, from our Team Members to our guests. With so many first-time guests, we look forward to sharing our great-tasting food and signature hospitality that Chick-fil-A is known for.”

Quality Ingredients; Delicious Food

Chick-fil-A restaurants focus on serving customers great-tasting food made with quality ingredients. Many items on the menu are hand-prepared daily and most of our produce is delivered fresh up to six times per week. Learn more about Chick-fil-A’s delicious menu here.

Impacting the Community

Since 2020, Chick-fil-A has donated more than US$1 million to Second Harvest to support local hunger-relief organizations. Second Harvest is Canada’s largest food rescue organization and helps reduce the environmental impact of food waste by redistributing surplus edible food from across the supply chain to non-profits throughout the country. In celebration of the opening, Chick-fil-A will donate US$25,000 to Second Harvest to support local non-profit organizations in the community in the fight against hunger.

Josh’s restaurant will also be participating in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table™ program, an initiative that redirects surplus food from participating Chick-fil-A restaurants to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and non-profits to help feed those in need. Chick-fil-A Wharncliffe & Wonderland will do its part to reduce food waste in its kitchen with a “cook less, more often” approach, reducing the amount of food that goes unserved. When there is surplus food, Chick-fil-A Wharncliffe & Wonderland will donate it to a local non-profit organization whenever possible.

To date, more than 23 million meals have been created using Chick-fil-A Shared Table donations from 2,000 Chick-fil-A restaurants throughout the U.S. and Canada.

“I’ve always been someone who cares about my community and looks for ways to give back to those most in need,” said Josh. “Chick-fil-A Shared Table will allow us at Chick-fil-A Wharncliffe & Wonderland to positively impact our fellow residents and help fight food insecurity.”

Team Member Investment

Most Chick-fil-A restaurants are individually owned and operated by an independent franchised Operator. Those Operators strive to hire, develop and retain top talent, while providing a great work environment for people of all ages and backgrounds. They also often offer their Team Members opportunities for hands-on training and mentoring, competitive pay and benefits, and the chance to apply for scholarships to support continued education.
